Govt says it has noted the press statement from the Ministry of Defence on the new operating model which they are proposing to adopt.

Speaking from New York where he is shortly to address the United Nations Fourth Committee of the General Assembly, the Chief Minister, said: "I note with satisfaction that the MoD is not proposing any compulsory redundancies, but I am disappointed that they are seeking to reduce the number of directly employed individuals working for the Ministry of Defence in Gibraltar. I will work with the unions and the work force to ensure that we are best able to address any concerns of the workforce going forward and arising out of this proposal for voluntary redundancies."
